بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

AssalamuAlaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, How beautiful is it that we have been blessed to have Ramadan, to be able to feast with our families and friends, and to be able to build connections and bonds. Ramadan is the time when Allah SWT has opened up the doors to Jannah, and He calls upon us, He accepts our good deeds, and He answers our Duaa's. We ask Allah SWT to make this a blessed month for all of us, and to accept it from us, Ameen. 

My name is Yasmin Ahmed, and I am honoured to be able to work with Human Concern International this Ramadan on their Food and Water campaign. Our Prophet ﷺ was the first one to give food aid and water aid to the poor and needy. Your donation will provide families with nourished meals and well fulfil their thirst this Ramadan. 

‘The Messenger of Allah (saw) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”’. [Abu Dawud]

The Prophet ﷺ said, “he is not a believer whose stomach is filled while his neighbour is hungry” [Sahih Bukhari]

Food and Water for the Fasting

2022 and 2023 have seen a significant increase in the wealth gap, leaving many impoverished and without access to basic necessities like food and clean water. This Ramadan, we have the opportunity to live like the early generation of Muslims by showing concern for the less fortunate through the practice of Sadaqah.

Our goal this Ramadan is to provide essential food and water packages to 175,000 people worldwide, with a focus on vulnerable communities in Eastern Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. Many of these communities suffer from a lack of clean drinking water, which is why we're building 500 water wells across these regions in 2023.

By donating, you can help prepare needy families for Ramadan and ensure that they don't go to bed hungry during this holy month. Your contribution will also provide communities with access to clean drinking water, not just during Ramadan but for years to come. In Islam, the reward for providing water to the poor, the needy, and the thirsty is immense, and your donation will help you earn this reward.

Build a Well in Someone's Name

You have the option of building a well in honor of anyone you’d like with a donation of $1500 CAD. You will receive a certificate, a report and photos of the plaque with their names on it when the well is completed.

If you wish to have a name on a plaque, please forward your receipt for a full well to Info@humanconcern.org and cc hassan@humanconcern.org.  In that email please include the below.

Name, email, number, country to build in and name/s on the plaque. Wells are expected to be built within 6 months upon submission of details through email.
