Charity Shoppe, a thrift store fully managed by Islamic Relief Malaysia, sells preloved items for charity purposes. The Charity Shoppe has been operating since 2012 in Bandar Baru Bangi, Selangor as one of the platforms to fundraise for Islamic Relief's humanitarian projects locally and internationally.

With our store primarily catering to low income workers, the benefits work in 2 ways. We help the workers by providing low-cost items and we use the proceeds from those sales to fund projects for other marginalized communities.

Among the items sold at Charity Shoppe are clothing, household appliances, decorative items, kitchen utensils, tableware, home appliances, books, toys, and others. The store also serves as an avenue for our beneficiaries to sell their products on our shelves such as cookies made by urban poor entrepreneurs, and even ready to eat dishes made by single mothers.

However due to COVID-19, outlets such as ours had to be closed down for months, severely affecting the shop's sales. Thus, we urgently need funds to cover Charity Shoppe's operating costs such as:

·       Shop maintenance including facilities and utility bills

·       Other method in promoting Charity Shoppe

We aim to:

·       Maintain Charity Shoppe as a center for community activities

·       Maintain Charity Shoppe as a place for donors to donate items and belongings

·       Ensure Charity Shoppe can continue to sell cheap and affordable items for all walks of life

Through Charity Shoppe, Islamic Relief Malaysia hopes to become a focal point for people to gain a deeper understanding on humanitarian issues around the world while also raising awareness and empathy within the community.
