Farkhanda, a 37-year-old resident of Mardan, KPK, has been suffering from severe pain and swelling in her left hip for six years. Upon consultation, the doctor gave her an anti-inflammatory medicine. However, the pain and swelling in her hip increased with time. Her father took her to the specialist. The doctor evaluated her, ran some diagnostic tests, and diagnosed her with Avascular Necrosis of the left femoral neck. It is the death of bone tissue due to a loss of blood supply. It mostly affects the femur bone, and if it goes untreated, it may collapse the joint. The doctor advised total hip replacement surgery on the left side. It is a surgical procedure in which the damaged bone and cartilage are removed and replaced with prosthetic components. The surgery will help Farkhanda walk without pain.

She lives in a rented house with her parents. Her father is jobless. Her family receives PKR 10,000 per month in family support. Due to her pain, she cannot work to earn money. She is not financially stable to pay for her surgical expenses. She said in despair.
