With the Biking Challenge Part 2, we're embarking on a journey with Tarek that combines adrenaline with compassion, where he'll cover a distance of 1000 km within just one month! For every 100 km covered, he will stop to get advice from individuals, adding an element of learning and fun to his adventure.

Orphans bear challenges that we often overlook and their remarkable resilience in the face of these difficulties is an inspiration for us all. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was an orphan himself, yet he was the greatest man to walk on earth. Life is challenging as it is, but for children who lose a parent at a young age the burden becomes much greater.

The importance of caring for orphans in Islam, promises significant rewards for those who undertake this noble responsibility. Supporting and sponsoring orphans is considered an act of charity, compassion, and most importantly a means to attain closeness to Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessing be upon him). Orphans are mentioned 23 times in the Quran, emphasizing the importance of good treatment towards them and the severity in sin to mistreat them.

This year McMaster OSP has partnered with Human Concern International to provide food, clothing, education, and access to medical care to orphans who need it most. We are one of the largest student-led fundraising campaigns at McMaster University and by the Will of Allah and immense support from our community, we have successfully raised over $180,000 in the past eight years to help hundreds of orphans around the world. Each year we collaborate with students, staff, local businesses, and members of the community to raise money for orphans worldwide.
